This is Annie's second litter
and she certainly outdid herself! She whelped 4 girls and 5 boys over
the course of 3 1/2 hours. Since the vet had only identified 4
heartbeats by ultrasound, it was a big surprise! We have
evaluated the litter and there are a few puppies available that will make
nice show or performance prospects. So if you are considering getting a Belgian,
feel free to contact me.
I was so happy with the results of
Annie's first Belgian Sheepdog litter last year, I
decided to repeat the breeding in hopes of getting another really nice
Belgian show
girl. The puppies from the first litter were uniform in look,
conformation, and temperament.
I am expecting good things in the show and performance rings from those
puppies.
Annie is a wonderful
mother and loved her last litter so much it was hard to get them weaned!
She is a high energy girl with tons of ball drive, which is typical of
Belgian Sheepdogs. She has a
beautiful coat, nice square body, and good movement. She's a natural
at agility. She is 6 years old and in excellent health. Dancer
is the happy-go-lucky 4 year old Belgian Sheepdog male I kept from Sheba's litter, who easily finished his championship
from the Bred By Exhibitor class and is now working towards
his HSAs herding title. Both these dogs
LOVED to show and I showed them both to their championships myself.
Dancer received OFA Excellent
hip & Normal elbow scores just like his mother. Annie's OFA xrays
came back with a score of Good hips and Normal elbows. Eye exams were done on both dogs
with no hereditary eye problems found. All my dogs are seizure free.
Epilepsy is a problem within the Belgian Sheepdog breed, but thankfully I
have not yet experienced that issue with my dogs.
I
expect this breeding to produce medium to high drive beautiful
healthy Belgian Sheepdogs with good coat, good movement, attractive heads, and happy, willing
attitudes. The previous litter was very consistent in size, bone,
temperament, and look, which made it very difficult for me to choose the
puppy I wanted to keep.
